Actually, there is no Bronson of today! He had such a unique physic and approach to his acting (even though he said he was just in it for the Money) that nobody today dont even come Close. He was truly one of a kind, and to try to name someone that could carry his personage seems to me as just a waste of time

I think the TAKEN movies starring Liam Neeson are nearest to the Death Wish movies in recent years. I am looking forward to seeing TAKEN 3. Bryan Mills wife gets murdered and he goes after those who done it. A bit like Death Wish were Bronson goes after the muggers. If Death Wish was remade I think someone like Liam Neeson or Daniel Craig could fill the part both currently Tough Action stars

If you look at Jackie Chan's great performance in The Foreigner, I think he would have made the perfect actor to remake Death Wish I as the moody, depressed white collar worker who turns vigilante, a lot better than Bruce Willis in the upcoming November 2017 remake IMO
