Probably the most unusual film of Bronson's career. Shot in London, by " LETHAL WEAPON" director Donner, " TWINKY" is a love story between a 38 years old porn novelist (48 years old Bronson !) and a brit teenager (Susan George). It's a comedy, with nice songs, and Bronson looks like a fish out of the water. He did this film just after " ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST", and it's a huge contrast. It has no aged very well, but we'd like to see a decent DVD of " TWINKY" (" LOLA" in the U.S.), because all the existing editions are awful. Walter Lassally, good director of photography deserves better.

I don't remember exactly that dialogue but it was very funny:
Police officer:How old is the girl? Lola:I'm 16. Police officer:And you're 38? Bronson:Yep. Police officer:Tell me you 're kidding. Bronson:I was kidding, I'm 32.

Man, this movie was just awful. Awful! Horrible job by the director Richard Donner and the editing is a mess. It's edited in a way that will make your heart ache, everything goes so fast. I guess it would suit today's young audience, though. I get that it's supposed to be like that but it's not very effective since it ends up just being annoying. Speaking of annoying, so is Susan George's character Twinky, I just want to hit her!
I have no idea what Charlie was thinking with this one. It's easily the worst movie of his I've ever seen.
