Death Sentence is a 2007 American thriller film loosely based on the 1975 novel of the same name by Brian Garfield , the film stars Kevin Bacon as Nick Hume, a man who takes the law into his own hands after his son is murdered by a gang as an initiation ritual. Hume must then protect his family from the gang's resulting vengeance ....sounds familiar but then brain Garfield wrote death wish as well ...so had to buy the dvd about £2 off amazon ...have not watched it yet....don't expect it to be up to Bronson standard....but the reviews seem positive ...anyone here seen it ? what do you think....

The book is actually a sequel to Death Wish about the same character, while the movie is not. I was disappointed by it, a co-worker lent it to me after having said how awesome it was. Me being a Kevin Bacon means I was already pumped for it. It was OK at best, the story is pretty stupid. I've bought it since (I'm funny that way) but haven't revisited it yet, and not sure when I'll do.
Definitely see it though, a lot of people seem to like it.

HI I will let you know what I think of it ....I think I will enjoy it I like good acting and vigilante films ...just got hold of the 1983 release vigilante with fred Williamson - not a bad movie - but these don't match up to Bronson - a little off track now I watched a Jason statham movie called the bank job 2007 set in London 1971 its written by clement & le frenis who wrote the classic villan film which was released in early 70s and uk programmes like porridge whatever happened to the likely lads auf weiderson pet etc - what a movie brilliant g

Vigilante is OK, too. I also own that one. It's very B-ish, but in the good sort of way. Nice to see all these revenge flicks that Death Wish inspired.
