I love that film anyway but it would have been amazing if Charles had played the part.

Billy Crystal once offered Bronson the Jack Palance role in "City Slickers".
Billy called Charlie and offered him the role which brought Palance an Oscar.
Bronson said on the phone: How can you dare to offer me a role of a character who dies?
Crystal wanted to say "but you also died in "The Magnificient Seven", but before he could say that Bronson hung up the phone.
Great story, it´s told by Crystal in his book.

I think that might now be in my top ten favourite Hollywood stories and I've only just read it. It's also the sign of a interesting and cool person when the projects they didn't do are just as interesting as the ones they did. Thinking about it I think he was offered the role of Snake in Escape from New York also.

It was all over the internet that Bronson was offered the role as Adam Sandler´s dad in "Billy Madison".
