"1 $ 98" was meant to be directed by Bronson himself, starring Jill Ireland and Joe Namath, an ex-miner. Lew Grade publicized the project in Cannes, then... Nothing.

I love European movies so much. I think Bronson would have been great in "Le Professionnel" in Belmondo's role. It was released in 1981 a few months before "Death Wish II" and it's my favorite Belmondo's starring vehicle.

My wife thought that "Leon - The Professional" owed a lot to "The Mechanic"...maybe he'd have been perfect in the Jean Reno role...

I remember reading about that in one of the Bronson bios...that is too bad. Didn't it have something to do with coal mining in a small town?

What do you think about Anthony Quinn's role in Fellini's "La Strada".Bronson was very muscular by that time and was always great in beauty&beast movies like "Lola", "Chino", "Breakout".

I just read in Bruce lee's Bio, that he was a huge fan of Charles Bronson, and one of his goals in the industry, was to work with Charlie in a movie. What a movie that would have been!

I think he would have been great as Nate, the character played by Jon Voigt in Michael Mann's "Heat".That could be his last great performance.

I really don't get these directors for not wanting to do what Sean Penn did -- put him in small but excellent roles in their films. Did he have that bad a rep? Wonder how Sean Penn did it...

In an interview in the nineties, Bronson said : "They keep sending me scripts, I keep turning them down". He didn't need or want to work anymore, that's it. I think he knew Sean Penn since he was a kid, because he did a "FUGITIVE" episode with his father Leo, as director in 1967. But I heard George Lucas wanted him as a Jedi in the second "STAR WARS" trilogy, he was contacted to play the sherif in "MISERY"...

I watched yesterday "La Mala Ordina" (Manhunt), an Italian action classic directed by Fernando Di Leo.This is one of the coolest movies of the genre.A New York mafia boss sends two very skilled hit-men to Milan in order to kill a prostitution mogul, in public eye.The hit-men are played by Woody Strode and Henry Silva. While watching the movie I never stopped thinking of how great Bronson would have been to play any of those two.
If you can find it take a look it's worth...

As far as I know Bronson didn't like Peckinpah, he once said something like: "I don't work with a drunk". I would really love to see Charlie in "Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia", Peckinpah's best in my opinion. It would have been a great chance for him to show his acting skills.

Bronson should of taken the part of Burt Lancaster in Lawman. I think bronson may of turned down Michael Winner. It was a Class western Michael calls a cast member ( Lee J Cobb) Mr. Bronson..... May be to annoy Charlie
