Steve Mcqueen was a big movie star in the 60's and 70's(The Great Escape, built,Towering Inferno), and was cauterized as "The King Of Cool". I was wondering what you guys thoughts on this actor.

A big fan of McQueen. The man made some excellent films, including THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE GREAT ESCAPE, THE SAND PEBBLES, BULLIT, THE GETAWAY, and PAPILLON, among others. When other actors were trying to get more lines, McQueen was going for less. He knew what worked for him on screen and that was a minimum of dialog and an abundance of presence.
Died young and left behind that iconic image of the speedster and hell-raising tough. He trained with Chuck Norris and Pat Johnson for several years but was always reluctant to show off any martial arts on screen. From what I've read he didn't want people trying to fight him, or using his skill against him in lawsuits. That's why he never tested for a black belt despite having an abundance of training. Would have liked to see some of his moves on screen.
