I don't know allot about Bronson, but I spend allot of my free time reading about Elvis. As far as Karate gos, he was an 8th degree black belt.In reality he wasn't that skilled. As a fighter they say if you cornerd him he would panic and hit fast hard and ferociously. He had body guards, but when you have 500 girls wanting to get to you, you need a shell around you. I talked to Michael Dante who was in the movie. he said they pretty much avoided each other.

Elvis had a body guard because it became standard procedure because of the fans and the level of star he was. Elvis had gotten into a few fights in his life , jealous buy friend mostly and his guitar player Scotty Moore said he could hit you 4 time before you knew which way he was coming. Against Bronson, who knows? It would have been a hell of a scrap I think, Presley was a tough kid , don't kid yourself, plus it was said he was kind of crazy, which isn't hard to believe?

Elvis was taller had the reach, maybe the speed also, judging from watching him on stage , wearing a 30 pound costume and still grease lighting . Ed Parker his Kenpo Karate instructor said, Elvis has a very good interpretation of the art, you wouldn't want to mess with him.

Besides all that , Elvis was a pretty good dude by reputation not a trouble maker. Bronson I heard was the one who started the shit.

Florida Georgia Line is my favourite country music band. Headliners Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are those guys that can make anyone sing along. That's why I like to attend their concerts. And - that's surprisingly wonderful - in 2019 they have CAN'T SAY IT AIN'T COUNTRY TOUR which covers all the USA towns and cities. For concert dates list visit Florida Georgia Lina Tour 2019.

Breaking Benjamin is my favourite band of 90s. They had so many hit songs! The ones I remember are 'The Diary of Jane', 'Tourniquet' and, of course their hit 'So Cold'. These are real songs, not garbage like today! And it is awesome that they have a tour in 2020! So I'm going to visit their concert in 2019. The concert dates is here: Breaking Benjamin tour. Check it out and maybe we can even visit one of the concerts together!

Interesting that we talk about Bronson & Presley like they "should" like each other. Bronson was born in 1921 & Elvis in 1935. That makes them 14 years apart. My mother was born in 1920 - a year before Bronson & she was no rock & roll fan. So why would Charlie be a buddy to this new idol Elvis? Of course, he didn't care for Elvis. It took time for people like Sinatra, & even more, for Dean Martin to come around to liking Elvis. I have friends who worked in the movie business who said Bronson was never easy to get along for anyone. He stayed to himself. Not a social animal. Neither was Burt Lancaster. Bronson has never been known to pal around on a movie set & admitted he had few friends.
Lots of reasons for an Elvis not to be on Charlie's list of people he'd hang with. As far as who would beat who in a fight? Elvis may not beat Bronson in a fight but he had the skills to frustrate an opponent & stay away from getting hit. Charlie's tough but he was no pro boxer.

Sounds like alot of ideots posting here. Don't put Elvis down so quick. You never know about something like that. One thing I know is it sounds like charles was jeolous of Elvis, since he was the biggest star in Hollywood. Elvis would have given him plenty, I'm sure of that. But who cares??? Charley would not have got out alive if he would have even tryed to start trouble with the world's biggest star. And one last thing. I rarely believe these stupid stories in the first place.

First of all, kudos for the quality of discussion in this thread. I'm an Elvis fan, born in 1962 (the year Kid Galahad was released), so that's where I'm coming from. I read in one of those movie magazines of the late '60s/early '70s, that the boxing consultant/trainer who had worked on Kid Galahad had said that of all the actors he had worked with (and there were many), Elvis was the closest to being a real boxer. He stressed that Elvis wasn't going to win any championships, but he had legitimate tools and skills. As someone earlier mentioned, Elvis was a legitimate black belt at the time of this movie. We're not talking about 8th degree black belt -- I have no doubt that is more academic and honorary than it is actual expertise -- but a legit black belt by someone who was a couple years out of the army.
People have a tendency to think of Elvis as soft because of the Vegas costumes in the last couple of years of his life when he was ill with severe internal gut issues, but he was a product of the south who grew up poor in basically a ghetto and who hung around with that crowd. Elvis had a temper, so you'd have to assume that if he and Bronson threw down, Elvis would channel that rage. The point is, mentality matters and if Elvis knows he's in a fight that doesn't involve some dude looking to cause problems so he can sue him in civil court, it's gonna be on like Donkey Kong.
Further proof that Elvis had a rough 'n tumble mentality took place just two months before he died. In Madison, Wis., his limo was driving past a fight at a gas station in which there were 2-3 guys beating up on another guy. Elvis had the car stopped, gets out of the limo, and confronts the guys beating up the kid before any bodyguards could really do anything. He diffused the situation (and having a couple of bodyguards behind him probably didn't hurt when the guys were looking at Elvis frickin' Presley at midnight in Madison, Wisconsin), but he ran toward the trouble. Elvis played war at Graceland with fireworks and bottle rockets, collected guns, played football ... he was much more of a Dude than people give him credit for.
In 1961, when the movie was made, Elvis would have been 26 and at the beginning of his prime; Bronson would have been pushing 40, at the end of his prime. As an Elvis fan, I'm gonna pick Elvis for the win but I'll concede that Bronson may eventually overpower him in a street fight; both guys are gonna get hurt. But man, if all of us shared the pay-per-view rights for something like that, we could make millions.

You must be out of your mind. Bronson would beat up "The King" within 30 seconds. Bronson was a real tough guy, though he didnĀ“t have much stamina because he was a heavy smoker but many people were scared of Bronson. Bronson could really intimidate people.
Elvis was into karate but he was no great karate guy. Great karate guys were Chuck Norris, Mike Stone and Joe Lewis. They were fighters.
