" RED SUN" is a strange product : a french-spanish-english coproduction, made for the japanese market, where Delon, Mifune and Bronson were in 1970 the top stars. No masterpiece, for sure, almost a "so bad it's good" film, but " RED SUN" ages surprisingly well, and the Mifune/ Bronson team works beautifully. The great japanese actor takes the Bronsonish stoic silent type role, and Bronson gives a light and verbal performance. Too bad the film wasn't handled by a real director, even a Burt Kennedy would have been a better choice. But despite its numerous flaws (ugly locations, awful secondary players) " RED SUN" has its rewards.

This is one of my absolute favorite Bronson movies. I went into not expecting much, but the story moves along, it has good action, and Charlie has great chemistry with his co-stars. He's-I dare say-charming in this.

Oh yes, I see, saying "him" you meant Charles Bronson not the user"Bronson613".
From what I've heard "Rider On The Rain" and "Adieu L' ami" were his favorites.

Yes, charming. I stand by my statement.
Charlie is my favorite actor, but in a lot of his performances, he just plays his character as a standard strong, silent type (The Mechanic, Violent City, Evil That Men Do..etc).
But in this film, along with others like "From Noon Til Three" and "Breakout," he gives a different kind of perfomance. He is talkative, delivers his lines with more inflection, and seems like the kind of guy you could sit down and talk to. He even smiles from time to time!
If "charming" doesn't works, how about "engaging" then?

I know what you mean, man. There's nothing wrong with it.My reply was not for the word "charming" it was for the frase "I dare say".That's why I told you "I just kidded because he was too DARING".I said that in a sarcastic way, dude.I'm sorry for being misunderstood.End of story.

I think it's one of his better films. Wasn't it Terrance Young, the guy who directed the 1st couple of Bond films? Ursula Andress was pretty hot as well.

He directed the most sucessful bond ever, Thunderball (more than $160 Mil in BoxOffice at that time!!!) Anyway, Red Sun is one of the best westerns ever alongside Sergio Leone's movies! So sad Delon and Bronson made only two movies together, but at least both are very good!

Terence Young planned to make a "JUAREZ AND MAXIMILIAN" with both of them, in 1973, but it never materialized.
