Director:J. Lee Thompson Writer(s):J. Lee Thompson, William Roberts Actors:Charles Bronson, Lisa Eilbacher, Andrew Stevens, Gene Davis
"10 To Midnight" is the "Dirty Harry" of 80's.Bronson plays an experienced and cynical cop who's after a psycho killer played by Gene Davis(brother of Brad Davis who starred in "Midnight Express")

It's a B grade version of " DIRTY HARRY", with lots of gore and nudity, lots of Andrew Stevens and Gene Davis, and not enough of Bronson. I must say I'm not crazy about what Bronson did to his face, in this film... It makes him look weirder, not younger. He still had his old great face in " DEATH WISH II" he made a few months before.

Its pretty cool seeing Andrew Stevens in 10 to midnight, because he directed me in the upcoming Sci Fi Channel movie "Fire From Below" ( I play a solider) , and the guys a blast!

His face is obviously different but is it 100% sure that it was a face lift? I can't understand why a guy like Bronson lifted his face. His craggy face made him popular why to destroy it?

Michael Winner said he had a face lift after "DEATH WISH II", and thought he was "puffy". I think Bronson made that decision because he was 60 at that time, and was playing characters at least ten years younger. He obviously wanted to last a bit longer as an "action hero".

The difference is obvious between Death Wish II and 10 To Midnight.Even though I've heard that Michael Winner had said that Bronson had a face lift between Death Wish and Death Wish II.
Any way that makes no sense, If he wanted to look younger it would be easier to keep his hair, not too white.
Something else I notice between "Death Wish II" and "10 To Midnight" is that Bronson was obviously not that slim in "10 To Midnight" so maby his metabolism had changed and made his face looks puffy and weird. The hair style was also weird.

I was shocked when I heard Bronson had done some work on his face. He's the last guy I'd expect do such a thing in Hollywood. Guess I can't blame him, though. Maybe he would have looked too old later in his career if he hadn't made that face-lift? I don't know. Still prefer the old Bronson to the new one, of course. As for the movie we're discussing in this topic...
I was kind of disappointed in this one, which so many seem to hold dear to their hearts when it comes to Bronson's action movies from the Cannon era.
Bronson is good in it, though surprisingly talkative and less trigger happy. The guy who plays the serial killer does a damn good job and is creepy as hell, it's the rest of the supporting cast that doesn't quite cut it. I think the pacing of the movie is what hurts it the most, it feels pretty slow at times, and unlike a good action thriller that gives us suspense between all the action, this being a Cannon film, we simply get lots and lots of nudity instead. Female and male.
I will have to watch this again to better judge it, I guess I thought it would be more action-packed. Had no idea the psycho in this was the brother to the wonderful Brad Davis who left us too soon.

I too feel like he shouldn't have had a face lift. His cragginess was the reason for his fame, but can understand, because know one really wants to get old.

It's still hard for me to admit it.He looks like a different person, his face is too puffy but there are maybe other factors that make it look like that.I put some pictures here in case any of you knows any plastic surgery doctor or something like that.I wanna hear an excpert's opinion. "10 To Midnight" & "Love And Bullets" "10 To Midnight" & "Death Wish II"

That black and white picture is not from either "10 To Midnight" or "Caboblanco." It is from 1984's "Evil That Men Do." I have that actual production pic at home.

Question: Is there an uncut version of this movie anywhere in the world? I have the US released MGM DVD, and almost every kill scene looks like it was censored... and heavily. I'm not sure if cuts were ordered by the MPAA to get an R (it was released when the slasher movies were taking a beating from the censors), or if the studio demanded cuts so they wouldn't have another controversial thriller on their hands. Anyone know? Good movie, by the way.

Now that I have a week or so back, I've changed my mind about this movie. I pretty much totally disagree with my first impression of this movie. This time around, I really, really liked it. I was right when I said it may have been because there wasn't much action. Now that I knew what I was going into, I could enjoy it a lot more. I didn't feel it dragged at parts at all, either, and I don't think the supporting cast did as bad a job that I first thought they did. I now feel this is a great, suspenseful action/thriller that I'd recommend to most people I know.
