My second favorite Bronson film next to Death Wish 4: The Crackdown. Bronson is Jack Murphy, L.A.'s toughest cop. His wife is murdered and he is blamed for it, he is handcuffed to a street punk girl and he searchs for the killer. Fantastic film, Bronson kicks all kinds of ass. And Arabella McGee is a good sidekick, "Suck a doorknob, you homo" great lines from her. Action was also good in this one. 5/5

I do enjoy this one, although the lead actress is annoying as hell and says some of the dumbest things I've ever heard in a movie. Still, the actioin is pretty solid and Bronson has his own law: Don't fuck with Jack Murphy.
Honestly, how awesome is that?

I'm not a great fan of the films Bronson made in the eighties. I think the "true Bronson" ended his career with "THE WHITE BUFFALO". Nethertheless, "MURPHY'S LAW" is entertaining, and I think Bronson needed the kind of partnership Kathleen Wilhoite gave him in this film, to revive his persona. Bronson already played drunks, mostly on TV ("THE BIG VALLEY", "THE VIRGINIAN") and he does it quite well in "MURPHY'S LAW".

Great pictures from "NOBILITY OF KINGS" ! In "EARTHQUAKE", from "THE BIG VALLEY", he drank so much, that Barbara Stanwyck had to threaten him with a broken bottle. I remember Bronson was drunk in "MISS SADIE THOMPSON", and was a big whisky fan in "NEVER SO FEW", "A THUNDER OF DRUMS", too.

HE WAS ALSO DRUNK IN "ADIEU L' AMI" (HONOR AMONG THIEVES)
"MURPHY'S LAW", "THE EVIL THAT MEN DO" AND "DEATH WISH II" ARE MY FAVORITE BRONSON MOVIES FROM 80'S

I'm sorry but I've gotta say this movie is terrible. It's turned me off wanting to see the rest of Bronson's 80's catalogue. I enjoyed Death Wish 3 and 4 and I thought The Evil That Men Do was just average. It seems as if Bronson lost something after the 70's though, or maybe it's just the movies.
Back on topic, I thought the supporting actress had terrible dialogue (I hope it was intentional), the villain was terrible and Bronson didn't seem as tough as previous movies.

I agree about lead female character, but I believe it was more of the directors fault, because he should have yelled CUT! When the actress was saying the lines so awfull, and teach her how to protray a loud mouth punk properly, and Charlie wasn't as tough because he was trying to hard to be funny and tough at the same time, but it came off bad.

I absolutely loved "Murphy's Law." I thought it was one of the best made of Charlie's Cannon Films. I thought it had a good plot with several twists, Charlie actually got to have some fun with his lines, and I like the fact that he had a sidekick.
BTW-Charlie's ex-wife has a cool story in her book "Charlie & Me." It involves the guy who plays the bad cop in this movie. If you haven't read it, check it out.

You are absolutelly right."Murphy's law" has a great fast and solid plot, and cool dialog. It's Bronson's most entertaining movie of 80's.
It's the "Mr. Majestyk" of 80's.

One of the best movies Bronson did in the 80's and for Cannon Films. There's lots of great action, humor, one-liners, classic 80's soundtrack and cheese in this one.
The writer of the movie must have had a great time coming up with all the curse words for Kathleen Wilhoite's character, who seems to say new ones every other minute. Hearing her mouth go off like that was some of the funniest scenes in it.
