That is a funny story, and seems to be pretty popular since it is written all over the internet.

I have this movie, it's an OK 80's action flick IMO. Actually thought it would be more of a horror movie when I saw the cover and title.

That's an awesome collection. I wonder where he got those statues/figures from? I'm not aware of any existing ones that are available for sale, or have been. I'd love one!

Will the Charles Bronson and Death Wish Files sites be updated anytime soon? At the moment there's not a lot of info on either site, which is a shame.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by this movie, to be honest. I was a bit tired when I watched it though, so that may have something to do with it. Still, it's a decent enough western mystery/thriller. It'll have you guessing 'til the very end and the action scenes near the end is definitely worth the wait.

This movie lived up to the hype that goes along with it. It's unquestionably one of the best westerns of all-time, that's not even up for debate. What's more interesting to debate is if it's actually the best western ever made? It sure is a worthy contender. In many ways it feels a bit more epic than The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, which a lot of people feel is the best western ever made. I think the soundtrack to this could even be better, except for the main theme of TGTBTU which is probably the best movie theme ever written. Charles Bronson's icy stare in this would scare the shit out of any sane man in the world. Never have Leone close-ups looked better than when they're focused on Charles Bronson with his harmonica and "I mean business"-stare. The Harmonica theme told us all we ever needed to know about his character; don't fuck with this guy! Henry Fonda as the main bad guy was a nice touch, I don't think I've ever seen him play such a ruthless character before, he's usually such a sweetheart but you could never tell by his acting in this one, he was perfect. I love the fact that we didn't get to know what Harmonica's beef with Frank was until the end, we just knew he wanted him dead really bad, by his hand. That last shootout is just as memorable as the one in TGTBTU. This film is damn close to being perfect. I understand what you mean. But it's better than the whole hour after the charriot race in " BEN-HUR". I have to respectfully disagree with this. I don't think the time that passes after the race affects the movie in a bad way. Ben-Hur was not simply a revenge story, it was much more than that.

I will have to watch this again to better judge it, I guess I thought it would be more action-packed. Had no idea the psycho in this was the brother to the wonderful Brad Davis who left us too soon. Now that I have a week or so back, I've changed my mind about this movie. I pretty much totally disagree with my first impression of this movie. This time around, I really, really liked it. I was right when I said it may have been because there wasn't much action. Now that I knew what I was going into, I could enjoy it a lot more. I didn't feel it dragged at parts at all, either, and I don't think the supporting cast did as bad a job that I first thought they did. I now feel this is a great, suspenseful action/thriller that I'd recommend to most people I know.

I don't get the hate some have of this one. I think it's a surprisingly good gangster drama/thriller with some great performances from the cast. Even though you don't fully view Bronson as an Italian, it doesn't really bug you because he plays the unexpected part well enough. For those with an interest in the Mafia in America, it's a must-see.

This is probably Bronson's worst Cannon movie. I'm not 100% sure yet, I'd have to watch Messenger of Death again, but I remember liking it, whereas this was only OK entertainment. It's not very memorable, except for the scenes where Bronson uses a rocket launcher. He and his wife Jill Ireland have good chemistry in this one. I have to say she looked beautiful for being in her 50's at that time.
There's a contrived love-interest story in the movie which is kind of goofy and not very believable. Not that everyone didn't want to bang Charles Bronson no matter how old he was, it just felt very unprofessional for a White House bodyguard to be so desperate to get him in to bed. The actress playing her was pretty awful, too.

An enjoyable action/thriller which was a lot less sleazy than I had heard it would be and had very little nudity for a Cannon film, especially one with this storyline! The acting from everyone involved isn't top notch, but that's to be expected and is kind of a part of the charm with these films. I think the action scenes in it was pretty rewarding and looked costly enough that it could have belonged in a higher budgeted movie. The fight scenes were OK, Bronson got to kick some major ass in this one and even used a dildo as a weapon against one thug ;D It looked like Bronson still did most of his fightning scenes himself, which is nice considering he was pushing 70 when this came out.
Interestingly enough, Bronson's character becomes prejudiced against Japanese a bit into the movie. I can't help but wonder how the Japanese audience felt about the character and movie as a result, since he was/is immensely popular over there.

Anyway, there was a story about a drug house which Jill's son apparently frequented at some point in the 1980's. The drug users were holed up inside doing their thing when there was a knock on the door. Peeking outside the window they saw a pissed off Charles Bronson on the porch. Charlie pounded on the door some and said something along the lines of "This is Charles Bronson, and if I ever catch you giving my son drugs again I'll kick your asses!" or something along those lines. The druggies were rightfully frightened. Imagine being stoned out of your mind and an angry icon like Charlie shows up on your doorstep. That's hilarious! Almost sounds like a Death Wish sequel! I haven't seen the movie though, but would love to get a copy of it if it's possible, preferably on DVD.

Bumping this topic as I think it has way too few replies. I won't contribute at this time, since I have to think this one over for a while.

Couldn't agree more, guys. I've always dug the way he walks and am glad other have noticed it as well. It's a walk of complete confidence, like he owns every room he enters, every street he walks on.

This is seriously one of the funniest videos I've ever seen on Youtube, and I've seen a lot! Jim Carrey was great on In Living Color, his mannerisms, way of speaking etc is so great in this skit, it has me laughing so hard every time I watch it.
Here's a new working link for the video, not to be missed by anyone: http://www.youtube.com./watch?v=BEtF6ap4tF0

Never watched them back-to-back in one sitting. I have watched one of them per day, finishing off the series on the fifth day.
The original is easily the best, in fact I think it's one of Bronson's best ever, but I think the rest are all very entertaining as well, no matter how ridiculous and over the top they may be. I love the series. Love it!
