The action feature "Black Moon Rising" (1986) was originally written by John Carpenter as a Charles Bronson film. Tommy Lee Jones ended up playing the lead a decade later. Interesting that Carpenter also originally wanted Bronson for "Escape from New York" and the studio wanted Jones.
Anyone ever see the original "Assault on Precinct 13"? The character of the prisoner Napoleon definitely has some Bronson cool. Darwin Joston, Carpenter's next door neighbor, did the role justice.
