The other day I was watching Farewell Friend which I thought had Bronson's best physique as well as Cold Sweat. With Chato's Land as a runner up. I was wondering at what time in his career do you think Bronson had his best physique?

Bronson had a great physique in the 1950's, especially in some of his Indian roles such as DRUM BEAT and RUN OF THE ARROW. Great arms and muscularity. He'd have been in his 30's then. However, to me his most impressive time was when he was still parading a nearly identical physique in the 1970's when he was in his early 50's. He may not have been at his own physical peak, but he was so close that it was phenomenal. In that era most professional athletes were expected to attain thickening waistlines in their 40's as a matter of course. Charlie and his work ethic were far ahead of their time.

Do you really think that he was in good shape in "Farewell Friend"? I always thought that in this movie his physique is less impressive than in any other.I agree about "Cold Sweat" though. His arms were really impressive, he had almost no fat and he was ripped like hell.He looked also huge in some moments.
As Chaney said he was at his best during 50's.If you look at movies like "Miss Sadie Thomson","Drum Beat" "Big House U.S.A.", "Run Of The Arrow" you 'll see that he had a bodybuilder's physique

I still stick by those movies being his best physique, I found that in the 50's he looked more lean and fit rather than the imposing Bronson in the later movies.

I felt in the early sixties he had his best physique(THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN & THE GREAT ESCAPE), but for the most impressive, I go for some his 80's movies(DEATH HUNT, THE EVIL THAT MEN DO, AND MURPHY'S LAW), because at that age, you shouldn't have a body like that. Its ridicules!

He's not only lean and fit in fifties, he 's also bigger than ever.Have you seen the opening scene from "Miss Sadie Thompson"? He looks huge.

That's true, too bad I'm too low-tech so I can't post images on that forum.
