DeNiro was the son of expressionistic painters and was sent to the School of Music and Art. As a boy he was so skinny and pale his friends nicknamed him Bobby Milk. When Charlie was a boy he was learning to throw knives and stick them into trees when he wasn't shoveling a ton of coal. DeNiro was still skinny throughout his early acting years until he alternately put on muscle and a ton of fat to play Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull". DeNiro is a great and intense actor who dedicated himself to his preparation for this role. However, Charlie was dedicated to toughness his entire life, never allowing an ounce of fat on his body until he was ready to collect social security. DeNiro wouldn't last a round.
Charlie wins by a knockout.

I'm surprised he was able to play those tough characters so well, after reading that. I guess it shows how great of an actor he really was.
