Huston was in "BREAKOUT" but had no scene with Bronson. He almost directed "LOVE AND BULLETS", but fell ill. I know he said "RED SUN" was one of his favorite western of all times, and he loved Bronson in it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that they had the same agent !

It's possible. After all, Bronson made a few films for director Donner, on TV and "X-15" and "TWINKY"... Please, a picture !!!

Good team with John Leyton in "THE GREAT ESCAPE", almost all of his scenes in "THE DIRTY DOZEN" were with Jim Brown. And of course his friendship with Jason Robards in Leone's western. Belmondo was supposed to play Bronson's part in "YOU CAN'T WIN'EM ALL", when the film was called "DUBIOUS PATRIOTS" and it could've been Raoul Walsh's last film, too.

The racist rapist brothers in "CHATO'S LAND" were mean, too.

Strother Martin, who'll make several films with Bronson, also appears as the real perp.

What kind of bad guy does Bronson play, in "HELL AND HIGHWATER" ?

In some books about character actors, you can find "LONELY ARE THE BRAVE" in Bronson's filmography. And not only once. This modern western, shot in 1962, and starring Kirk Douglas, had only one role that could've fit Bronson : Gutierrez, one of the trackers. The role was filled by George Kennedy, who apparently replaced Bronson at the last moment. Anything more precise about this subject, anyone ?

Interesting... Bronson is almost invisible in "RED SKIES OF MONTANA", but he has one or two close ups, for a few seconds. I know Richard Crenna made his debut in this film, but I've been unable to recognize him. Quite a good little film, by the way. Henry Hathaway, uncredited, directed the fire sequences.

Execellent episode, and one of Bronson's best TV work. Harry Starr is a dangerous bastard, using people's compassion for him, to stab them in the back. Bronson is very convincing when he talks to Lillte Joe and his "Paw", about racism and loneliness, only to reveal a few scenes later (SPOILER !!!) that he is a scheming SOB. The scene in the saloon, when Harry just got his new boots and is provoked by the guys, reminded me of the first scene in "CHATO'S LAND".

A Hepburn-Tracy comedy, nice and fast, with good dialogue, and a great Aldo Ray as a child-like fighter. "PAT AND MIKE" gives Bronson his first real role, a year before "HOUSE OF WAX". He plays a thug who tries to cheat with Tracy's sports team. He is brutally beaten by Hepburn, and has a hilarious sequence in the police station, pressing charges against her. She calls him "the little fellow". Good fun, and take a look at his socks !

It's pretty awful ! Poor Bronson with his grey hair and his limp (he seems to forget for several scenes), has nothing to do, except looking impressed by Presley's skills as a fighter. And they are not THAT impressive ! In an interview, Bronson said he went in a movie theater to see "KID GALAHAD" with his then wife, and was so ashamed, he walked out.

The only really good version of "RIDER ON THE RAIN" is the french one (it's a french production) issued by Canal +. Incredible picture quality, but in french language only. I heard that there'll be a UK edition very soon, in english, with Bronson's voice. In french, he is dubbed by american director John Berry, with an accent.

Like in "THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED", Bronson has a minor role in this Taylor-Burton vehicle, and a bad one too : a beatnik sculptor in love with Liz ! "THE SANDPIPER" is by no means a good film, but Johnny Mandel's song is nice, and Big Sur beautiful to look at. I guess at this time of his career, Bronson seeked projects that weren't westerns or war flicks...

That's it I guess. Pollack didn't pay attention to him at all. And it shows in the film : just one close up. Even Robert Blake has a bigger role.
